HOW DOES USDA HEMP COMPLIANCE SAMPLING WORK?

USDA hemp compliance sampling starts with the producer creating a Sampling Event in the Hemp Portal. Once the Sampling Event is ready, a USDA-certified sampling agent collects a representative sample from the lot, completes the required documentation, and submits the sample to the appropriate laboratory for THC compliance testing.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A POTENCY CHECK AND USDA COMPLIANCE SAMPLING?

A potency check is for internal-use information only and can help producers monitor cannabinoid levels before the official compliance window.

USDA pre-harvest compliance sampling is the required official sampling used for compliance testing before harvest.

Potency checks do not replace USDA pre-harvest compliance sampling.
